Schedule Reddit posts — what works today (and the culture warning)

Last updated August 6, 2026 · Written by the Growently Team
Quick answer: Reddit offers no native scheduling for regular users, and its restricted API (2023) thinned third-party options. Growently publishes through Reddit's official API — to your profile feed by default, or to a subreddit you choose per post. More important than tooling: Reddit punishes marketing-shaped behavior culturally — schedule value, not promotion.
How it works in Growently: Connect Reddit in Settings (a standard Reddit sign-in). By default posts go to your own profile feed (u/yourname); set a subreddit on any post to target a community you're active in. The first line of your caption becomes the title, the rest the body; media attaches as a link post.

How to schedule Reddit posts natively

No native scheduling exists for ordinary accounts. Moderators get limited scheduled/recurring posts through mod tools in their own subreddits, and Reddit's 2023 API pricing changes sharply reduced the third-party tool ecosystem.

The bigger truth: tooling is the easy part. Every subreddit is a community with its own rules, and most explicitly restrict self-promotion. Scheduled blasts that ignore this get removed by mods long before any algorithm sees them.

What Growently adds to Reddit

The same system that powers our TikTok scheduler, applied to Reddit:

Our integration focuses on what's legitimately schedulable: recurring value posts in communities where you're an established participant, and coordinated launches where rules allow — with the cultural guardrails documented, not ignored.

Frequently asked questions

Can you schedule Reddit posts?

Not natively as a regular user. Moderators have limited scheduling in their own subreddits via mod tools; third-party options thinned after Reddit's 2023 API changes.

Does Growently support Reddit today?

Yes. Connect your Reddit account and schedule posts to your profile feed or a chosen subreddit from the unified calendar, published through Reddit's official API.

Does marketing even work on Reddit?

Yes, but inverted: participation first, teaching-style posts, promotion rarely and only where rules allow. Reddit sends some of the highest-intent traffic online to people who respect its culture — and bans those who don't.
